What we do

Everything your practice needs from a CPA, and nothing it doesn't

Four service areas, three signature offers, published prices. Whether you need one clean answer or someone holding the whole financial side of your practice all year, it starts on this page.

Most practice owners don't need more services. They need the right one, in the right order.

A therapist with six months of unreconciled books does not need an S-corp election. She needs numbers she can trust. A group practice owner adding her third clinician does not need another tax return; she needs to know what that hire does to her cash flow and her payroll obligations.

So this page is organized the way the work actually happens. Four core service areas cover the day-to-day. Three signature offers handle the bigger decisions: whether to elect S-corp status, whether to hand the whole year over, or whether one focused hour is genuinely all you need.

Everything below is delivered by a Certified Public Accountant who is also an Enrolled Agent with a Master's in Taxation, not passed down to a seasonal preparer you never meet.

The four core areas

What we actually do, in detail

Each area stands on its own. Most practices start with one and add the next as the practice grows, which is exactly what the Total Harmony Package bundles into a single relationship.

Tax Preparation & Planning

Filing is history. Planning is the part that changes the number.

Anyone with software can report what already happened. The work that moves your tax bill happens in June, September and November, setting estimates against real income, timing equipment purchases, testing whether your entity still fits, and making sure the deductions specific to a therapy practice actually get claimed.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

You cannot plan around numbers you don't believe

Half of the practice owners who come to us can't answer a simple question: did you make money last quarter? Not because they are careless, because bookkeeping is the first thing that slides when your calendar is full of clients. We reconcile every month in QuickBooks Online, catch you up if you have fallen behind, and send statements you can actually read.

Payroll & Retirement

Two decisions that quietly define your tax bill

How you pay yourself and how much you put away for later are the two levers with the biggest long-term effect on what you keep. They also carry the two most expensive mistakes we see: paying an S-corp owner a salary the IRS will not accept, and classifying a clinician as a contractor when the relationship says employee.

Advisory & Formation

Someone to call before you commit

Choosing an entity, signing an office lease, bringing on your first associate, buying into a group. These are the decisions that get expensive quietly, months later, on a return. Advisory work is about having a CPA in the room while the decision is still reversible.

Year-round

Total Harmony Package

Customquoted after a consultation

Tax, accounting and advisory under one relationship. Books closed monthly, estimates set on time, returns filed without a separate invoice, and a CPA who already knows your practice when you call.

  • Monthly bookkeeping
  • Business & personal returns included
  • Quarterly planning calls & unlimited email
See what's included

Priced on entity, volume, payroll and clean-up needs.

Tax preparation on its own is not sold as a standalone service. Returns are prepared inside an ongoing package, because a good return depends on books that were kept correctly and estimates that were set during the year, not in April. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
Still deciding?

Three sentences that usually settle it

"I genuinely don't know if my practice made money last year."

Then no strategy is worth building yet. Start with a clean-up and a monthly close so the next decision rests on numbers instead of a feeling. Once the books are current, everything else gets cheaper and faster.

Start with bookkeeping

"My profit keeps growing and my tax bill keeps hurting."

That is the S-corp conversation, and it deserves math rather than opinion. Run the free savings calculator first, then decide whether the full S Corp Strategy Report is worth commissioning for your numbers.

See the S Corp Strategy Report

"I want to stop thinking about this for the rest of the year."

Then you want one relationship covering books, payroll oversight, estimates, returns and the phone calls in between. That is the Total Harmony Package, quoted after a consultation.

How we work

Three steps, no mystery

The same process whether you are booking a single consultation or handing over the whole year.

01

Request a consultation

You talk about your practice, your entity, your systems and what is keeping you up at night. Safietou tells you which service actually fits, including "none of them yet, do this first."

02

Get a written scope and price

What is included, what it costs, when each piece happens. Flat fees, no hourly meter, no vague "it depends." If clean-up is needed it is quoted separately so you can see it clearly.

03

Hand it over and get a rhythm

Onboarding into the secure portal, books brought current, estimates set, calendar of deadlines established. From there it runs on a schedule instead of on your memory.

Questions, answered

What practice owners ask before they book

Can I hire you just to file my tax return?
Tax preparation on its own is not offered as a standalone service. Returns are prepared as part of an ongoing package, because filing a return well depends on books that were kept correctly, estimates that were set during the year, and an entity structure someone actually reviewed before December. If you only need a one-time answer rather than a filing, a paid consultation starting at $75 is usually the better fit.
Which service should I start with?
If your books are behind, start with Accounting & Bookkeeping so there is something reliable to plan from. If your books are current and your profit is climbing, start with the S Corp Strategy Report. If you want it all handled year-round, start with the Total Harmony Package. If you have one specific question, book a consultation and get it answered properly.
Do you work with practices outside New York?
Yes. SDR Consulting is a fully virtual firm based in Valley Stream, New York, serving clients in all 50 states. Meetings happen by video or phone, documents move through a secure client portal, and nothing about the work requires you to be local. State-specific rules are handled as part of the engagement, they matter a great deal for S-corp elections in particular.
How is pricing actually set?
Consultations start at $75, with the length set to fit the question after we see it on the intake form. The S Corp Strategy Report starts at $2,497 and the Reasonable Compensation Report starts at $500. The Total Harmony Package starts at $625 a month and is quoted after a consultation, because the work genuinely varies with entity type, transaction volume, payroll complexity and how much clean-up your books need. See the full pricing page.
What happens on a consultation?
You describe your practice, your entity, your current setup and what is stressing you out. You will hear honestly which service fits, what it involves and roughly what it costs, and if SDR is not the right firm for your situation, you will hear that too, along with what to look for instead.
Do you only serve mental health professionals?
Mental health and wellness practices are the specialty, and most clients are therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and group practice owners. Early-stage startups are served with the same proactive, year-round approach, the difference is simply that we already know the revenue model and the write-offs in a private practice before you explain them.
